Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Richard Cannaday is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PP&A Corporation. PP&A is a Human Resource Outsourcing enterprise with emphasis in both professional employer and administrative services organizations.
He holds certifications as an MBA with over 30 years of senior financial and strategic business experience. Richard has proven experience in all aspects of running a successful business. He has a strong financial background, having served at various levels of financial management with the responsibility to lead both large and small companies. His industry level experience includes semiconductor; construction; real estate management; consumer goods; professional employer organizations; food service; insurance and other financial related services. Richard has extensive experience as a strategic executive, developing key strategies, and then managing implementation. He is a focused problem solver and is able to effectively communicate across all organizational disciplines in order to achieve targeted results.
Richard Cannaday was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mason & Mickens Financial Solutions, Inc. with California offices located in Silicon Valley and Orange County. Mason & Mickens is a full service financial firm for entrepreneurial individuals and small to medium sized businesses that have specific and challenging demands for service and quality. The company has now merged with PP&A nationwide.
Richard began his career with Pharmavite (Nature Made Vitamins) in San Fernando Valley and later was a member of the financial merger team for Sanyo-Fisher. He served in various controllership and strategic officer management roles for Schlumberger LTD in the technology, utilities, and public works construction divisions for more than ten years. During his tenure with Schlumberger, he focused on implementing new reporting systems, lowering taxes, generating greater margins, improving cash flows, financial reporting, and coordinating acquisitions and dispositions. One of the pinnacles of Richard’s success while at Schlumberger consisted of his supervision of the $700M Illinois Power Project related to the historic flagship deployment of smart meters (utilities).
Richard was also a pioneer in the labor leasing industry from the 80’s as Controller for TransLabor Leasing in Santa Ana, CA. This industry preceded the now popular PEO’s as they are referred to today.
Richard played a vital role in the divestiture, carve-out, and spin-off of the billion semi-conductor business from Schlumberger LTD. Following the IPO of the new entity, NPTest, Richard authored the revenue recognition policy and was responsible for revenue administration worldwide. In addition, he was on the steering committee for the Sarbanes-Oxley year one testing compliance.
As Principal at Cannaday and Associates, Richard provided various levels of tax compliance services; as well as, financial accounting staffing solutions; strategic planning and financial analysis services. In addition, Richard served on the Board of Directors for various service-based companies in California and a Semi-Conductor manufacturer in Texas.
Richard’s broad business strategic and financial experience, as well as specialized skills in improving operations and sales effectiveness, provides the unique talents to offer practical guidance and leadership to a wide range of companies.
Roland Hairston | Director of Sales
Roland Hairston is a seasoned professional with twenty plus years overseeing major human resource, financial, and operations initiatives. He has experience assessing EEOC, ADA, Family Medical Leave, ACA compliance along with Compensation and Benefits Plans.
He has served as executive officer overseeing organizational staffing for companies in excess of 5000 employees. His experience includes strategic and tactical oversight of the Human Resources (HR) suite of services to ensure a workforce of capable employees and processes that build and retain a team of competent and contributing staff. He is also experienced with Human Resource issues of civil rights, discrimination investigations, labor relations, career path development, HIPPA, state and federal regulatory compliance, etc. He has provided a plate of full HR services across several workplace arenas.
Roland has been the executive project leader for organizational restructuring, workflow analysis, culture change management, and served as the corporate officer responsible for regulatory compliance for federal and state labor policies. He has held the Certification of School Treasurer and School Business Manager from the State of Ohio. Roland has provided HR management oversight to the State of Ohio, Owens Illinois, Inc., The Potters House of Dallas, Inc., Clay Academy, and Family Matters of Greater Washington, just to name a few.
Maxine Wilson | Director of Human Resources
Maxine brings over twenty years of Human Resource management to the project team. Maxine provides expertise regarding employment practices, grievance settlement, payroll policies and procedures, and time accountability. Maxine is a certified OSHA trainer with the ability to provide an enhanced level of safety and training for organizations and their staff. Maxine provides expertise in assessing HR policies and procedures. She has a very successful track record in developing and assessing HR policy across several financial services companies and has a keen insight into matters surrounding employee accountability issues.
Stella Biswah | Benefits & Workers' Comp Specialist
Dr. Biswah is the lead person for assessing Basic Workplace policies (schedules, security and safety) and Risk Management regarding workers compensation issues. Dr. Biswah is an expert in managing Workers’ Compensation claims and instituting programs to increase safety and security while simultaneously reducing claims. She possesses over ten years of experience performing employee assessments, developing training programs to reduce LOA incidents, leadership development, change management, and organizational structuring. She has successfully led projects improving organizational efficiencies and accountabilities across all organizational levels. Dr. Biswah’s diverse experiences will be utilized to maximize goals and policy executions.
Martin Chachoua | Tax and Accounting Manager
Martin is PP&A Tax and Accounting Manager and leads our team of CPAs and IRS Enrolled Agents. Martin who holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance is a Detailed-oriented accounting professional with a strong background in all facets of Accounting, Auditing, Financial Analysis and Taxation. Highly skilled in collaborating with all members of the organization to achieve business and financial objectives, Martin is adept in streamlining financial processes, enhancing productivity levels, and introducing process improvements.
Martin is an Enrolled Agent (EA), Licensed by the United States Treasury to practice before the Internal Revenue Service including representing clients under audit at the Tax Court in Washington, DC. Martin serves a broad base of both high net worth individuals and corporate clients in specific industries including distribution, manufacturing, professional services, real estate and non-profits.
Martin’s Background as a Master Tax advisor, Senior Tax Consultant and QuickBooks Pro-Advisor offers tremendous value to clients in the areas of Tax Preparation, Tax Remediation and Accounting Services. He ensures that PP&A stays abreast of any new tax regulations in order to resolve any tax issue.
Irma Ordaz | Senior Accountant & Payroll Specialist
Irma serves a dual role here at PP&A as both the Senior Accountant and Payroll Manager. She oversees the payroll process to ensure accuracy and timely execution, highlighted by her strong work ethic and attention to details. Irma’s knowledge of the payroll processing systems and federal, state, and local requirements allow for expedient and accurate processing of all payroll functions. Irma also serves as backup liason for the Hispanic/Latino community.
Anna Hernandez | Strategic Accounts Analyst
Anna serves as account manager for local and national accounts to ensure customer care priority. Anna is a tenured employee at PP&A and has worked in various capacities across the company. She is the internal consultant for payroll processes for PP&A and knows the ins and outs of the electronic requirements and process for payroll processing. Anna has a strong customer service orientation and strides to meet and exceed customer expectations. Her seasoned experience and high attention to details will ensure competent execution of PP&A’s client processes. Anna is also the liaison with the Hispanic/Latino community by providing translation services for our current and prospective clients.
Yoko Lin | Tax Accountant
Yoko is a tax and payroll accountant with PP&A. She has several years of experience as a prepared Federal and State tax professional handling returns for from individuals and various type business entities. She is Multilingual as well. [Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese]
Karima Thorne | Payroll Specialist
Karima is the newest member of our team. She is a payroll specialist with PP&A as well as a Tax preparer. She has a Certificate of Completion from Pronto Income Tax for the State of California. Her accounting duties include processing invoices and billing clients. Karima is a fluent speaker of both French and Arabic.
